About the presenters
Jesse Michel With the ability to design layouts and interfaces and the technical knowledge required to implement them in code, Jesse possesses a somewhat unique cross-section of skills. As a designer and front-end developer at PRC Applications — a local web and mobile applications firm specializing in eCommerce — his main focus is the implementation of front-end features for interaction, primarily on the Shopify and WordPress platforms. Coming from an art and design background, Jesse loves to explore new ways to bring unique and engaging online shopping experiences to customers through compelling content and interactivity. Jesse met Patrick at UNC Asheville in 2007, and joined PRC Applications in 2013.
Patrick Conant Patrick has a wealth of knowledge on software development practices and programming techniques, with over 19 years of technical experience. He loves to design creative solutions to complex problems building Shopify stores, WordPress sites, and native Mobile Apps for clients across the world. He’s not all business; Patrick volunteers a large amount of time towards civic technology projects that improve interactions between citizens and government. Patrick is an advocate for open source software, public data, government transparency, and community-driven solutions.

This workshop is part of the Craft Your Commerce: Marketing for Makers 2019 workshop series being offered by Mountain BizWorks, Center for Craft, and UNC Asheville. The series includes an opening half-day seminar, four deep-dive workshops, and two special cohort courses for makers. The sessions work great on their own, but they’re designed to build on one another and we encourage you to consider participating in the full series.
