Last year, the State of North Carolina passed new legislation making it possible, for the first time ever, to raise money for your small business from average people – and not just “accredited” investors. Following interest from several of our clients, Mountain BizWorks is excited to announce a new pilot course to a) explore whether investment crowdfunding is the right fit, and if yes, the b) how to navigate the process to create and launch a crowdfunding offering.
Invested: An Investment Crowdfunding Learning Journey will assist a small cohort of interested business owners in designing, preparing for, and launching an investment crowdfunding campaign. The full course will entail 5 session starting May 9 and running through July 11 (meeting every other week). The course may conclude with NC’s first crowdfunding pitch event.
However, before committing to the full 5 session course, we invite you to join us for an Intro to Investment Crowdfunding Workshop with attorney Jake Farrar and our lead facilitators Annie Price and Jeffrey Scott. The intro session will be April 18, 2-4pm at Mountain BizWorks.
